March 8, 2021. Alumna Katie Tregillus' dissertation work has just been published in Current Biology! The study shows amplification of color responses in early visual cortex of anomalous trichromats that may reflect compensation for their color deficiency. Katie is now a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Steve Engel at the University of Minnesota and also recently received an NIH NRSA fellowship.

Daniel Joyce (Executive Director) and Zoey Isherwood (Communications Director) are passionate about improving training, equity, and diversity for UNR postdocs and more broadly in academia. December 17, 2020. Congratuations to Kara Emery for defending her dissertation proposal entitled "Coding strategies underlying visual processing"!
August 24, 2020. Congratuations to Raquel Wescott and Franklin Fuchs who both received undergraduate research awards in Fall 2020 to support their honors research projects in the lab. Raquel's project will examine how surgeons adapt their eye-hand coordination when using magnified images. Franklin will work with Daniel Joyce to develop an affordable wearable device for monitoring circadian rhythms.
August 1, 2020. The Webster Lab is part of a NASA grant that was awarded this month. The grant is led by Alireza Tavakkoli in UNR's Computer Science Department, and it involves developing a system for monitoring changes in visual health resulting from long-term spaceflight.
August 1, 2020. The Webster Lab received funding for a new R01 award from the National Cancer Institue to study the consequences of visual adaption for medical image perception and diagnosis. The project is in collaboration with co-PI's Margarita Zuley and Andriy Bandos at the University of Pittsburgh and Craig Abbey at UC Santa Barbara.
