The Crognale Vision lab conducts research in the area of visual neuroscience with particular attention to color vision. We use a variety of devices and methodologies for research such as: single channel Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) systems, high-density 256 channel Electroencephalography (EEG) system, Functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy, Optical Brain Imaging (FNIRS), Adaptive Optics (AO), and Functional Magnetic Resonance Imagining (fMRI). We also conduct research with a professional flight simulator that allows us to study visual perception in the field of aviation.

The Color Vision Assessment Clinic

Do you need to get an impartial diagnosis of your color vision for your current or potential employment? Or, are you simply curious about your own or your child’s color vision?

Accurate diagnosis and evaluation of color vision capacities can be of great importance in many occupations and situations. We are currently offering to the public an opportunity to receive an in-depth, thorough evaluation of your or your child’s color vision by an experienced color vision scientist at the Color Vision Assessment Clinic at the University of Nevada, Reno. People of all ages can obtain accurate diagnosis and complete evaluation of color vision capacities for a nominal sliding fee (currently a maximum of $50). Fees are waived for students and employees of the University of Nevada.

We also offer a large variety of tests that are accepted by all military branches and the Federal Aviation Administration.
